Next stop Ottawa

Well, I have new news. I have taken a new full time position in the high tech corridor of Kanata, just outside of our nation's capitol Ottawa.

The good news is that relocating allows me to choose our new property with the main hull boat build in mind - amongst other family criteria of course.
I'm looking forward to a spring thaw with a new job, new home and a clean start on the main hull.

Congratulations...but to my recollection it does not thaw in Ottawa. So when you are done, where are we going sailing. Great news ...all the best to you and your family. That will be quite the move. I bought a Catalina 30 its just out side my front door in the marina. To good to be true.

hey Tom,
Compared to the island we are in a deep freeze all year round. But I do look forward to putting blades on the floats and skating the Ottawa River- kidding

Yup been there skating. And to some awesome boat shows when it thaws. Kanata quite the place... "It remained mainly agricultural until the 1960s when it became the site of heavy development. Modern Kanata is largely the creation of Bill Teron, a developer and urban planner who purchased over 3,000 acres (12 km2) of rural land and set about building a model community." ....But do you have to start cheering for Ottawa????!!!

Tom, we are actually looking for a home in the Constance Bay community which is about 20 minutes N of Kanata. Right on the Ottawa River it has the community cottagey rural feel that I am looking for.
Ottawa is undefeated lately hmmm, can't say that for the Leafs

Glad to know you will soon be back at work (including the boat!). As I work in my cramped garage, I envy the idea of choosing/planing a place to build. Best of Luck.
